Our Story
Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Ours began with a message — the kind the universe has a way of delivering at exactly the right moment. It started quietly, the way the best things do, and it hasn’t slowed down since.
Call it fate, call it timing — call it whatever you want. A connection made online led to a conversation, and that conversation led to everything else. One notification. One reply. And just like that, the best chapter either of us had ever lived began to write itself.
Our first date was at ML Rose — great atmosphere, good drinks, and one very unforgettable stranger at the bar who was absolutely living his best life. Somewhere between the exchanged glances and the silent “are you seeing this right now?” looks, we realized we’d already developed our own secret language.
We spent that summer exactly the way summers should be spent — spontaneous, carefree, and completely caught up in each other. And then fall arrived, and with it came the quiet, certain knowledge that this wasn’t just a season. We just knew.
Our first getaway together sparked a lifelong love for exploring. Somewhere between the sunsets and the salt air, we realized we were just scratching the surface of a beautiful, lifelong bucket list.
Madison has a gift for convincing Blake that another trip to Disney is absolutely necessary. He puts up a very convincing front of reluctance. He is not convincing. The mouse has seen us more than once, and honestly, we regret nothing.
Right after moving in together, we added a third member to the crew. Enter Maverick. He took the fast lane straight to the best spot on the couch, the center of the bed, and the absolute heart of our home.
Costa Rica showed us just how much adventure is out there — incredible food, wild coastlines, rappelling down waterfalls, and exploring alongside monkeys, sloths, and toucans. Our travel bucket list is long, and we’re just getting started.
During a vacation in St. Martin with our families, we woke up before dawn for a hike to the island’s highest peak. At the top, framed by the breaking morning light and an incredible ocean view, Blake asked Madison to be his forever.
Trading warm beaches for a campervan winding through Iceland — waterfalls, volcanoes, hot springs, and hopefully the Northern Lights. Our first completely solo adventure as an engaged couple.
We chose Barbados because it mirrors the things we love most in life — warmth, adventure, and the magic of the ocean. We couldn’t imagine celebrating this moment anywhere else.
Before the families were awake, before the sun had fully risen, they were already climbing. At the summit, with the entire Caribbean laid out before them and the sky turning gold, Blake asked Madison to be his forever. They kept that secret close on the way back down, savoring every quiet moment before sharing the news with the families waiting below.
